Sergeant W. J. van Ackeren was a Dutch marine sergeant who earned the Military William Order 4th class for his actions during the 1824 expedition against the sultanates of Tanette and Soepa.
Award
His citation notes his steadfast conduct during the assault on Soepa, after which he was formally recognized by the Dutch crown.
