Radja Mangkoeta was a head of Pidir on the north coast of Atjeh, described in the official reports as one of the few Pidir chiefs who were very well disposed to the Netherlands Indies administration. His statements were one of the three independent witnesses by which the Dutch gained certainty, in July 1876, that the prince of Gigiëng, Toengkoe Bintara Kamangan, was secretly in league with the war party — itself the ground for the breach of 19 August 1876.
His name is preserved by H. F. Meijer in Atjeh van 26 December 1875 tot 4 September 1876 (1883).
