Mr. Mohamed Amin was the republican government commissioner sent to Kuta Radja in early 1946 with instructions to formally confirm the reorganisation of Atjeh’s administration that had already taken place there in the wake of the Ulama–Uleëbalang social revolution.
Ratifying the Poesa’s takeover
Henri J. H. Alers’s Om een rode of groene Merdeka records that the central republican government accepted the shift of power in Atjeh to the Ulama class “without much comment,” since — in Alers’s judgement — no other course was realistically open to it. It sent Mr. Mohamed Amin to Kuta Radja as government commissioner, with instructions to ratify the reorganisation that had already occurred, with the result that all important posts in Atjeh’s administration officially passed into the hands of members of the Poesa. Only for functions where outside experts were absolutely indispensable were non-Atjèhnese officials permitted to be engaged.
