Lieutenant F. W. Hudig was a second‑class marine lieutenant who served in the Marine Landings Division during the Dutch assaults on Acehnese fortified villages in 1868‑1869. He is recorded among the four second‑class lieutenants (H. Quispel, F. W. Hudig, F. Zegers Veeckens, H. I. Cadet) leading landing parties.

Aceh Campaign

Hudig’s unit took part in the attack on Bandjar on 24 October 1868, contributing to the capture of the kraton and the subsequent occupation of Kali-Anget.

Significance

His participation reflects the importance of coordinated marine officer leadership in the Dutch conquest of Aceh.
