H. van der Kleij

H. van der Kleij was a marine of 2nd class in the Korps Mariniers who fought in the 1858 assault. He was cited among the marines nominated for the Militaire Willemsorde.

Service Record

Van der Kleij took part in the breach of the rattan barrier and subsequent hand‑to‑hand combat inside the fort.
