H.L.J. Ligtenberg was a 1st Lieutenant of the 3e Bataljon Infanterie who fought under Captain J.P. van Lier during the First Conquest of the Great Missigit on 10 April 1873.
Service
He assumed command or actively rallied the troops on the ladders immediately after Captain Van Lier was severely wounded in the face.
