General‑Major Van Geen was a senior Dutch commander who arrived in Celebes in the spring of 1825 with a large expeditionary force. He later led operations in southern Sumatra, including the March 1825 campaign against the kingdom of Boni.

Campaigns

Van Geen’s forces captured the main town of Boni after a series of engagements, notably the battle at Mangarabombang on 15 March 1825 and the landing at Badjoa on 27 March 1825.
