Originally Ali Juhari, son of the merchant Didi of Chamtalira, hero of the Hikayat Eseukanda Ali. He fell in love with Ra’na Jamin, promised to another, and after wandering into the wilderness was given miraculous objects by the hermit Dahet Amin and renamed Eseukanda Ali. He infiltrated the palace disguised as a dead girl, escaped with Ra’na Jamin on her wedding day, and after further adventures married both her and Keumala Hayati.
