Captain Pietersen was a Dutch naval officer who commanded the fleet element that participated in the 1825 expedition against Boni and the surrounding region. His ship contributed to the transport of troops and supplies during the campaign.

Pietersen’s fleet supported the land forces of General‑Major Van Geen and the marine detachments during the March‑April 1825 operations.
