Captain‑Lieutenant Buys was a Dutch naval officer who reinforced the expedition against the sultanates of Tanette and Soepa after the arrival of the frigate Euridice in 1824. His forces helped to stabilize the Dutch position during the renewed attacks.
Role
Buys commanded a landing division that supported the infantry and marine troops during the fighting around Soepa.
