Al‑Yāfiq was a 14th‑century Arabic poet whose two kasidas (k. al‑bahiyya ft madh khair al‑bariyya and k. al‑djāmisa al‑Shams al‑imān wa‑lawhjdd al‑Rahmān) are listed in the Jakarta manuscript collection (Van Ronkel, nos 894 & 272). These poems illustrate the continued production of devotional Arabic poetry that later reached the Malay world.
Manuscript Evidence
Both works are dated to the 14th century (gest. 768/1367) and survive in the Dutch colonial manuscript catalogues.
