Pacificatie van de South and East Division of Borneo (1905-1906) was the pacification of the South and East Division of Borneo carried out by H. N. A. Swart as Civil and Military Resident between 3 March 1905 and 1906.
Educated in van Heutsz’s school, Swart “could bring about a complete reversal in Borneo within one year.” Operations in the Doesoen and Dajak lands are recorded in his stamboek for 1905 and 1906. His conduct there and in Celebes in the years 1905–1908 formed the citation for his promotion to Commander of the Militaire Willemsorde: “for the manner in which he … acquitted himself of the heavy task of Civil and Military Resident in the South and East Division of Borneo and of Civil and Military Governor of Celebes and Dependencies, and for the outstanding deeds of courage, judgement and loyalty shown by him as commander and general leader of various operations and engagements in those provinces.”
