Account
Kapitein C. Schmid was stabbed (overhoop gestoken) by a passing Atjeher at Lho’Soekon on 10 July 1933. The author, then at Sigli, rushed to Lho’Soekon on the first news of the attack and found a grey, somber scene with groups of people huddled on the spoordijk in the rain and deep dismay inside the town. The author speculates that Schmid may be the last such victim.
Significance
