On the initiative of the zelfbestuurder Teukoe Tjhi’ Mohamad Ali Akbar, rubber-planters’ associations were founded in the landschap Kaway XVI (Aceh’s Westkust). He kept them under his leadership and supervision. Result: Kaway XVI is now the most important rubber producer of the entire afdeeling Westkust van Atjeh. A favorable exception to the general Acehnese inability to cooperate.
