Description

Small village school in the towns along the road. School buildings smell ‘onfrissche luchtjes’ (unfresh smells) - hygiene is something the Atjehner still needs to be taught. Hygiene education will only show visible results in a next generation.

Significance

The term volksschooltje is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
