Soembawa was a Dutch steamship (Hr.Ms.) that participated in the Royal Netherlands Navy’s riverine operations on the Tamiang river during the February 1893 expedition. It operated alongside Flores (ship), Sindoro (ship), and under the command of W. Allirol.
Role
The vessel contributed to the removal of enemy‑constructed barriers, enabling the infantry column to proceed upriver.
