Description

Agave fiber plant grown at the Lho’ Soekon vezel-onderneming. Thick fleshy leaves harvested when sufficiently long. Seeds germinate on the bloom stalk before dropping, so plant material can be gathered around the mother plant.

Significance

The term sisalplant is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
