Description
Traditional Acehnese dagger used in close combat. Tjoct Nja Din attempted to stab her betrayer with a rentjong. Teungkoe di Barat, hit in right arm, drew his rentjong with his left hand and passed his carbine to his wife.
Significance
The term Rentjong (rencong) is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
