Description
Leper asylums. In Aceh the costs are borne by the landschapskasen. Isolation not strict enough to prevent contact with the outside world. Some lepers attempted atjeh-moord (with knives tied to finger-stumps).
Significance
The term Leprozerie is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
