kreunda (English: “coffin / bier”) is a term or concept described in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in relation to Aceh. Acehnese coffin: plank construction with rotan or coconut-leaf-stalk bottom, covered with a loose lid.

Description
Acehnese coffin: plank construction with rotan or coconut-leaf-stalk bottom, covered with a loose lid. Carried by two men with the lid on their heads. Bound with white-cotton bands; silk cloths draped over. In the grave, head placed to the north, face turned toward Mecca.
Significance
The term kreunda is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
