Hakikat (Acehnese term)

Hakikat is the Acehnese word for “essence” or “reality”, derived from the Arabic ḥaqīqah. It appears on 82 with the gloss “wezen, essentie (A. masnd)”. In the Burda translation, hakikat is invoked in philosophical verses that contemplate the nature of being and divine truth.

The term is central to Acehnese Sufi thought, where seekers aim to perceive the hakikat of existence.
