Description

Dutch defensive line policy of 1886-1893 (7 years) limiting Dutch control to a perimeter around Koetaradja; its failure was demonstrated and the policy was abandoned. The Korps Marechaussée was founded (2 April 1890) to do police work within this stelling.

Significance

The term Geconcentreerde linie / Concentratie is recorded by Jongejan as part of the cultural, administrative, or institutional vocabulary of Aceh.
