The Atjehsch Museum — the Atjeh Museum — was a museum of Atjehnese artistic and utility industry, housed in an Atjehnese building at the esplanade of Kota Radja. The museum is, in Broersma’s account, ‘een bezoek overwaard zoowel om de zorgvuldige ordening die het bezoek leerzaam maakt als om de verzameling zelf’ — worth a visit, both for the careful ordering that makes the visit instructive and for the collection itself. The smith-craft, the weaving, all artistic industry and utility industry as well as the products of the land are represented there. It is to be regretted that the museum, now well-supplied, will perhaps soon have to miss a good part of its wealth, when an owner of many objects takes back his collection.
